Alternately any USB charger will power and/or charge the SDS100 battery. If you have a smartphone or other USB device charger you can use it if you don’t want to use the charger that came with the radio. I've never had the computer try to install a new driver in the many times I've disconnected the scanner and reconnected it, (except on the original install). Normally, they should last a least a few weeks to a few months if the main battery is dead. If the main battery is dead I've had mine work fine 6mo+ later. Now, out in the middle of the Service Types list, <Right Click on a blank spot. That will give you a small pop-up menu where you can either enable all Service Types on, or turn all of them off (Disabled).Solder the red wires together and to pin 5, Black wires together and to pin 1, Green wires together and to pin 2. Both GPS devices require outside power when used with the SDS100. They do provide power TO the SDS100 but require 12VDC power to the GPS.
